This week your students have been and will continue to discuss the Industrial Age. We will examine major events that changed labor and legislation in the United States related to safe working conditions. We will also look at the effects of these events and pieces of legislation on the economy and development of the United States. Specifically, we will look at Sweatshops, the Haymarket Riot, the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory, etc.
Just a reminder, the next payment for students going on the Washington, D.C. trip will be due the 30th of April. The amount of the payment is $71.00. In order to help offset this payment, the students will be having a yard sale fundraiser (tentatively scheduled for the 28th of April). Please let me know if you are interested in helping out with this event or if your child will be able to attend the event. Proceeds for the fundraiser will go to those students who are able to attend the fundraiser.
